Lviv Literary Residency is a unique opportunity for writers from Ukraine and all around the world to visit our city and get inspired for creating new masterpieces. Everyone who is willing to become a part of Lviv literary life can make their dream come true and become a resident of the City of Literature. Residency will be a joint project of the Development Department of the Lviv City Council, Hnat Khotkevych Palace of Culture (that hosts Lviv – UNESCO City of Literature Office) and Ivan Franko Literary and Memorial Museum of Lviv.
Partner Literary Residencies
In 2018, the project team of Lviv – UNESCO City of Literature in collaboration with the foreign cultural institutions hosted two residents in Lviv a writer and sociologist Barbara Thériault from UNESCO City of Literature Quebec (Canada), with the assistance of German Culture Forum for Eastern Europe in Potsdam; and a young writer and journalist from the city of Graz (Austria) – Marie Gamillscheg.
The writers have been creating during several months, drawing inspiration from Lviv: Barbara started her blog City writer 2018: Lviv | Lemberg, and Mary was writing her novel. During their residence stay, writers had an opportunity to participate in various events in Lviv and other Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Mariupol, Zaporizhzhia).
