The recording of the album Pid markoyu Ivana Yakovycha(Under the Brand of Ivan Yakovich [Franko]) by folk rock Lvivian band Hych Orchestra, which included songs based on translated poems by Ivan Franko, became a poetic and musical venture. There are mainly translations of folk songs (from Portuguese and Old Chinese) and ballads (from Old Icelandic and Old Scottish).

Ivan Franko worked on his translations back in 1914, and the musicians started working on the music project exactly 100 years later. The finished album was released in a portentous 2016 when the whole country celebrated the writer’s 160th birthday and 100th anniversary of his death day.
